Christina Willimann – Googled Colors 2013

This is a “mix” between contemporary painting and collage, consisting of a composition of digital photos found on the Net. The arrangement between painting on canvas and photo printing constitutes the entire work.

The paintings are designed monolithically, like a molding made of a single piece in order to express the idea of an integral (holistic) material.

The collages are composed of carefully chosen elements according to their color, the original ones have been preserved, not to betray their nature, they are nevertheless adjusted to form a palette of white cutout. The images have been selected for their meaning and symbolism.

« I thank all the photographers who shared their beautiful pictures on the Net. I was able to develop this project which is called “GOOGLED COLORS”. The photos were selected from “Google Image” and I reworked and changed some of them. In addition, I would also like to express my appreciation in regards to the possibilities offered by these new media and look forward to the lively discussions that will be created … ? » C.Willimann
